Chaz Kangas is a recent NYU grad from Minnesota who just happens to be a champion battle rapper.

He’s quick, witty, and talented. This weekend he performed at Nyle’s 48 concert in Bushwick. He tore down the house (literally, the show was in Nyle’s house) with a set that relied heavily on quick rhymes, audience participation, and loud beats.
But there’s definitely more to this man than just the rapper façade:
Myles Tanzer: You’re not from a conventional hip-hop town for sure. How did you like growing up in Minnesota?
Chaz Kangas: It was a great place to grow up, especially for music heads.
