Originally from London, Peter Dixon came to Hampshire in the 1970's and spent twenty years working as a Senior Lecturer in Early Years Education before becoming a full time writer, painter and performer in 1995.
A meeting with Roger McGough in the Fulflood Arms pub inspired him to start writing and years later it was to be this self-same pub where he and Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows hatched the plan to turn The Colour of my Dreams into an album.

Andy had always been a fan of Dixon's writing and as an exercise he set about putting some of the poems to music.
The first one went well, so he kept going, battling the somewhat unusual studio conditions of a home recording session using just 'Garageband' in a flat on a noisy street.
Each of the takes had to be timed to fit in between shouting builders and honking horns.
